We are in the middle of our winter sports season and already preparing for the spring. I would like to say thank you to who has helped support Glenbard North Athletics thus far this year and I am looking forward to a very strong finish to our winter season.
Once again we are enjoying a successful winter season here at Glenbard North High School. Our varsity girls’ gymnastics team is undefeated in dual competitions and looking to bring home the DVC conference title. The wrestling program continues to compete against some of the toughest competition in the country and is looking to secure a 14th straight conference title.
Our girls and boys basketball teams continue to work hard as we look to finish the season strong. The boys basketball team is currently 4 and 1 in conference and will be competing the next month to have a chance to win the Dupage Valley Conference. Good luck to each of them as they finish the regular season and prepare for regional play in the next few weeks. If you have not been out to a game come out and support our teams as they demonstrate the sportsmanship and pride of the Panther athletic programs. Also a reminder as our spring season begins. Each student must have an updated physical, code of conduct, and IHSA performance enhancing drug waiver on file with the athletic department. After completing the paperwork each student will receive a gold card from the athletic office. Each student must present the gold card to their coach on the first day in order to participate in the sport.
It is essential that each of our parents make a commitment to our Athletic Booster Club. Glenbard North High School expects each parent to volunteer 2 hours towards the athletic booster program each season. Your volunteer hours are an important part of the success of our programs. We also need members who are willing to become part of the Athletic Boosters board. In order for the strong support of our athletic programs to continue we need your help. Please contact the athletic boosters at www.gbnbooster.com to sign up. Panther Pride, Matt Bowser Assistant Principal for Athletics
