Greetings from your Glenbard North Athletic Boosters. Congratulations to our Panther wrestling team, under the guidance of Coach Mark Hahn that captured the 3rd place trophy at the IHSA state meet for the second year in a row. The team also sent 5 individuals to the state meet, crowning one champion, Joe Gosinski at 125 pounds. Joe completed his season with an incredible 52-0 record. Freshman Brian Murphy also placed 3rd in the state at 130 pounds. Adding more hardware to the trophy case, the team won their 12th straight DVC Championship and 10th straight Regional meet. Excellent teamwork! We would like to congratulate the girl's gymnastics team for capturing the 7th place trophy at the IHSA State Meet! Their hard work and dedication really paid off as the team was also Regional Champions, placed 2nd at Sectionals, and remained undefeated in DVC meets over the past 4 years. Also, congrats to our Varsity Cheerleading squad and coach Sarah Robertson and student coach Cenzo Cusamano on their exciting trip to the IHSA State Finals for Competitive Cheerleading. The girls placed 18th out of the top 25 teams in the state. It was only their second experience at a state competition and they proudly represented GBN and their Panther Spirit. Way to go! Congratulations to all of our student-athletes on their successful seasons. This winter was an exciting time to be a Panther! As you read this, spring sports are beginning to come alive. Please support all of our athletes as they proudly represent GBN in track & field (boys and girls), boy's gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, and baseball, and girl's soccer, softball, and badminton. These student-athletes dedicate their time and energy to make our school and community a fun and exciting place to bring your family. The Boosters will also begin work on our Panther Walk of Pride this summer. Laser-engraved bricks and/or granite stones will create a path where you can honor a current student, grad, military service personnel, coach, teacher, grandparent, or any one else you can think of! Clip art and business logos can be added at no additional charge. Please visit our website for more information and order forms for our "Panther Walk of Pride". We are also very excited to be hosting our 2nd Annual Panther Golf Outing at Glendale Lakes Golf Course on Friday, June 18th. Please save this date for all of you worm-burners, duffers, hackers, amateurs, and pros! Your fee will include 18 holes of golf (4 person scramble, shotgun start), cart, lunch at the turn, a Western style BBQ dinner, raffles, silent auction, goodie bag, plus 2 hours of "open" beverages. If you're not a golfer but still wish to support the Boosters, you can attend our dinner, raffle, and silent auction at a reduced cost. We'd love to see you on the tees, fairways, out-of-bounds (oops!), and greens ~ showing everyone your skills on the course. Prizes will also be awarded. Flyers and more information will be posted on our website at www.gbnboosters.com. Let's make this a new tradition of fun for our Panther families and our community. A great time is guaranteed for all that attend!!!!! Good luck to all of our spring athletes as they proudly represent Glenbard North High School and THANK YOU to all of our graduating seniors for proudly wearing black and gold in Panther Country!
