Thank you for volunteering!

Your volunteer hours help support our athletes through the purchase of new equipment, uniforms, improvement to our facilities and much more. In addition, your presence at our events shows your support for all student athletes.

Go PANTHERS!

Volunteering in four easy steps

1. Check the GBN Volunteer Schedule below to see what and where the need is

2. Fill-out the Volunteer Request blocks below and send
3. Show up at the event 15 to 30 minutes ahead of the event time to assist in set-up or stay afterwards for tear-down.
4. Verify your hours between 7 and 10 days after you've completed your shift.

Step 3 - Show-up when you're scheduled

Show up for the event - Please note: If you are working in the concessions stand, per Illinois State Code, you must wear closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals).

OPENING AN EVENT:

Please arrive at the designated start time listed on the volunteer schedule as the event will start approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the time start time.  This will allow time to set-up concessions before the start of the event.  Someone who is in charge will help you get started. Check-in by signing the log before you start. We need to unpack candy that is refrigerated, set-up food tables, heat water, wrap pizza, make popcorn, and mix hot chocolate for delivery.

SHIFT VOLUNTEERS:

Please arrive at least thirty (30) minutes before the shift schedule to allow for an organized transition between volunteer crews as a courtesy to those who need to go watch their sons or daughters perform.

CLOSING AN EVENT:

Coolers need to be restocked and prepared for the next event, serving equipment must be cleaned and returned to storage. All surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized and the floor must be swept.

Step 4 - Check to make sure your hours are credited
Check your hours by opening this spreadsheet (in EXCEL Format). Please take a moment and verify that you were credited for the proper number of hours worked and that they are being applied to the correct sport. Starting in 2013, we are changing how hours are recorded. The standard "calendar year" for volunteer hours will be March 1 through February 28. This will allow us to account for the hours for each sport and distribute funds without making changes after the sports year ends. We do our best to ensure that you are being credited for the hours you work. If there are any discrepancies, please send an email to volunteer@gbnboosters.com and explain what hours you should have. Any concerns will be researched and a response will be provided. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF GN PANTHER SPORTS!
